DuPont: Creation of strategy, tactics and materials, and execution of consumer research to develop new consumer products markets for specialty chemical products using a an established high awareness DuPont trade name. Project entailed extensive analysis of product categories/markets; twenty one focus groups among users of various product categories; and creation of over fifty new product concepts utilizing DuPont specialty chemical to enable unique claims. Developed sales strategy and materials.

Bayer: Conducted extensive primary and secondary research review, situation analysis, and developed positioning refinements to reinvigorate flagship Bayer Aspirin line. Project success lead to similar assignment for the Bactine brand.

Unilever: Created product names for new line extension introductions to the Skippy and Country Crock product lines. Products are now leaders within their respective product segments..

W.F. Young (Absorbine Jr.):

  • Analyzed brand business within category and business context, and developed remedial action plan, leading to increased sales of existing topical analgesics product line
  • Developed positioning, strategy and copy and conducted qualitative research for introduction of new product line, now #2 within category

Andrew Jergens Co. (Div. Of Kao Pharmaceuticals): Consulting regarding new product development and launch, and consumer package and technical copywriting

Shaklee Nutritionals: Re-positioned entire product line including developing new product names, positioning, and package copy for over 40 items in line. Conducted extensive secondary research analysis, national sales meeting presentation, and promotion materials for this large direct-to-consumer nutritionals company. Company sales have increased dramatically following launch.

Binney & Smith International (Crayola):\

  • Conducted extensive business analysis, secondary research review, and development of business objectives. Created over 25 new product concepts, and conducted four focus groups among mother/daughter pairs to evaluate concepts. Product now being launched in US and overseas.
  • Developed concept based on existing product technology. Concept generated above-norm scores in BASES test.

Time Life Books:

  • Analysis of prior direct-marketed products to isolate success variables, and creation of over 20 new product concepts based on learning. One resulting concept has become top-selling direct marketed product for Time-Life.
  • Extensive analysis of licensable equities, and identification of optimal license options for Time-Life products.

Parenting Magazine Group: Extensive secondary research analysis lead to creation of over 20 concepts targeting new mothers using the Parenting Magazine brand identity.

Good Humor/ Breyers (div. Unilever): Development of packaging strategy and goals to accompany major Popsicle brand restage based on brand and category review. Product line has been highly successful in-market.

Scholastic Books: Development of guide for retail employees regarding objectives, strategy and execution of Toy's R Us exclusive retail boutiques.

Datascope International (Medical Device Manufacturer and Marketer):

  • Qualitative research among major international affiliates to guide international strategic planning.
  • Development of customer service system and protocol.
  • Analysis of divisional business by sales area and territory, and creation of ongoing sales monitoring system
  • Development of sales materials for new medical device product
  • Development of plans for outsourced sales representative network.

Southworth Paper Co. Development of new identity, positioning, and marketing plan, updating the entire product line consisting of over 100 products for this 164 year old company. Project entailed creation of product line architecture, segmentation strategy, individual product naming, positioning optimization, package copywriting, and extensive qualitative research for this company which is the category leader of Fine Business Papers in major office superstores.

DR Research (Prestige Facial Care Products): Created introduction strategy, buyer presentation and materials, and execution of qualitative research for this technologically advanced skincare product.

Lander (Major Control Brand Manufacturer): Conducted extensive strategic analysis leading to recommendation of optimal categories for business expansion, and identification of specific opportunities for new product entries

Serono Biotech International, S.A.: Conducted qualitative research among Ob/Gyn Fertility MD's for restage of leading fertility drug.

Mindful Technologies: Refined and restaged product line, wrote all package and materials copy, and created and executed go-to-market strategy identifying and targeting high potential distribution opportunities

Arquest Co. Conducted research and retail review, developed situation analysis and recommended new exclusive diaper brand product concepts for presentation to eight leading Mass Merchandise and Drug retailers.
