Holly Rosenthal, Founder and President of The Concept Factory
As Founder and President of The Concept Factory®, a marketing, new product development and qualitative research consultancy, she has provided consumer insights, strategic and tactical input, and marketing innovation that has resulted in successful new product development, the introduction of myriad new businesses, and has dramatically grown established businesses. The Concept Factory client list includes major multinational corporations as well as small entrepreneurial businesses, and spans industries including consumer products, services, foods, cosmetics, personal care products, OTC and Rx drugs, technology, nutritionals/nutraceuticals, office products, medical supplies, biotechnology, children's' products, apparel and retail. As Vice President of Marketing at Revlon, she developed and introduced a line of new products which generated a 48% concept top-box score - double category norms and the most appealing new product idea in Revlon history. She reinvigorated older businesses with repositioning, reflected in new claims and imagery. She developed the divisional policy on Licensing and Acquisition, and was appointed to the Five Year Corporate Strategic Plan Committee. As Vice President of Marketing at Nice-Pak Products, a large Private Label company, she introduced successful new Wal-Mart White Cloud products; and the new Wal-Mart Equate Three-in-One facial cleanser wipes. She created and gained distribution for a permanent 4'x9' Convenience Center display in all K-Mart locations. At the Block Drug Company (div. Glaxo SmithKline) where she was Director of New Business Development, she was responsible for identifying and consummating a number of successful new licenses and brand acquisitions, and built two of these to leading positions within their markets. She brought new life to old brands by repositioning them based on the identification of compelling new claims, and building sales and equity through successful brand extension businesses. She was responsible for creating the highest scoring concept in Block's historical database. At L'Oreal she worked on the flagship brand, building it to a leadership position, and introduced a number of new products, merchandising and promotional ventures. She began her marketing career at J. Walter Thompson on Warner-Lambert's consumer health care businesses. Holly has an MBA in Marketing from the Wharton School and a BS in Social Sciences from Cornell University. While completing her MBA, she introduced and marketed Runderwear athletic gear, praised in Jim Fixx's Book of Running. Holly was a Speaker at the 2002 HBA Global Expo at the Javits Center on maximizing new product development successes while minimizing risks, and has spoken on various issues for the Product Development and Management Association. She has been published in Mass Merchandise News, Private Label Magazine, and Private Label News. |
